The Cougars hockey club was formed in 1996, by the players of the Beckenham Inline Hockey Club. The team used the Battersea Youth Centre as its training ground since the facility first opened and has been based at the Centre ever since.

Throughout the years the club has entered a team into many seasons of the B.I.P.H.A and GBHI leagues, since these were first organized. The leagues have offered the players an opportunity to compete against other teams, across the country, in a well-organized association. The Cougars have had many successful seasons in these leagues and continue to enter competitive teams..

Battersea has become a very important point for many hockey players, not only because it is probably the only place where Inline Puck Hockey is played in London but also because anybody, no matter their ability level, is welcome to play and have a good time.

During the years, many volunteers have given their time to keep the team afloat and to maintain Inline Hockey in Battersea as a hockey session open to anybody who wants to join and we wish to continue that proud tradition.
